South Park today: The trails are perfect at South Park. Get out and ride during the long week end. In the Pittsburgh area we don't get too many stretches of perfect trails. headed to Moraine or Frick this week end as well I'll keep you posted. Enjoy the Holiday!

Back.........

Ok once again I'm going to try and keep this thing updatged, been away busy as can be with work and life and blah blah blahh.............

OFF THE BACK: So What's new, well went to the big bear classic a few weeks ago. I have to say the WVMBA and the folks running and marshalling the race have it together. What a well run event. Having said that, I had a terrible day on the trail, in fact the worst I've ever felt on a bike. I was sick the week prior and should have stayed home, however I pressed on and went to the race. I felt like crap all morning leading up to the start and that continued through out the race. I rode up front in the sport class for 10 of the 13 miles than the lights went out. Guess I should have eaten more than tastey cakes and red bull. All of that combined to give me the worst finish I've ever had at a competative event.
Live and Lean. I should be able to get to a few more WVMBA races this year and hope to redeem myself. All in all though, what a great event. Great Job JR.

ADVENTURE MEN: Went for a group ride this morning at South Park with some guys from the Pittsburgh Adventure Men group. Trails are a mess, we were doing more damage than it was worth so we packed it in early. Looking forward to along road ride tomorrow. Thanks for showing up this morning!

All my friends are wusses

Ever wonder why you have the friends you do? I mean really, especially for us mountain biker types. All my friends that have mountain bikes and who hold themselves out as mountain bikers. Well, really they aren't. They like to stand around in South Park on perfect days and hold their shiny, never dirty mountain bikes out for every one to see. But when it really comes down to it they don't love to ride, just love to pose as part of the culture. AH...drives me crazy. Sorry Vic , can't ride today, too cold or too muddy or my girl friend will get mad, or it's too hot. Yea when it comes to mountain biking, I need new friends. If my friends are reading this, just kidding! Come on boys get off your asses and let's ride. Road rides are fine till the woods drain a bit. Give me a call POSERS!!! ~ Vic

BACK TO CANNONDALE

OK OK .....I can't stay away. Cannondale is all I've ever known as far as racing on a mountain bike goes....so I dumped the Fisher frame and ordered a Canondale F29er 1 frame straight from Bedford PA earlier today. It should be here by the end of Feb...more to follow on that. The snow, more to the point, the ice has really put the clamps on winter riding, so tommorow I think I'll hit the trail on my cross country skis. Well more to follow on the cannondale build.
